BROOKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY:: HIDE & SEEK
A REINTERPRETATION of a library for teenagers.
The proposed Brooklyn public library utilizes gamification by applying elements of Hide and Seek in its interior organization to encourage teenage user engagement & participation in library programming.
This library contain's six game blocks. These blocks, are vessels that hold EVENTS, as research indicates that programming in libraries is one of the most effective ways to assist in teenage development. Three hide blocks, contain events that provide child-like activities. The other three SEEK blocks house activities that are developmental to the growth of teenagers. The experience of hiding and seeking is created through spatial experience of walking towards, and away from light. In hide blocks, circulation leads you away from natural light. Alternatively seek blocks lead you into greater natural light.
